What I want is something like LatexParamType == None || Short || Static None: no parameter Short: specify parameter using a short title inset Static: use the LatexParam string as parameter This means we should add an enum latexparamtype to LyXLayout. Also, one should investigate how this can be used as an optional argument for theorem-like environments, and in general check that the code works as intended for latex environments (where it can be useful too). Finally, LFUN_INSET_SHORTTITLE should be disabled when it does not mke sense. JMarc
