The big deal is "modularity" and "lean interfaces". By using dispatch()
only, the frontends and the core are as loosely connected to the core as
possible.

Why not?

Maybe I did not understand Angus' idea, but especially in connection with
"LFUN_INTERPRET" this sounds as a big step towards scriptability...
