I have at least one that will go in.

I've seen both patches (sorry I did not reply), but I'd like to think
a bit more about them. For example, when has fixlatex2e been added to
latex2e. We have to modify our oldest latex version policy in function
of that. Also, last time I checked, the fixes in there seemed rather
esoteric, and people who really need them could maybe do it by hand.
But maybe I am mistaken

Concerning the pdflatex issue, I am really not keen of hardcoding yet
more formats into the code. The converter starting as a nice and
general framework, and now, instead of extending it nicely to fix its
problem (with new flags, for example), we are in the process of adding
code here and there saying "oh, I know, this one is a special case,
I'll hardcode what to do". That does not make sense. I'd rather see a
new flag 'forpdf' or whatever added to converters and treat only the
formats that have this flag speciially. The same holds for the formats
that are arbitrarily removed from the export list in the menubackend.
