Another thought:

Let's get rid of the gs/mono/color choice all together. Only implement the
"Do not display" toggle in the prefs/graph dialogs; the rest should be dealt
with automagically.

With "automagically" I mean: display the graph as it is; if it's in color,
display in color; if it's not, then don't.

Compare with, for example, when I use the ImageMagick's "display" command:
with "display mygraph.eps", I don't care about gs/mono/color; display
takes care of displaying the graph satisfactory for me. LyX should
do same.

Would such a simplification make people unhappy?
All I can think of is that *forcing* mono/gs display is used by users who have
a color graph, but run LyX on a 386 with monochrome display. But I thought such
species are extinct already :).

BTW: Either gs or color, will display my color graph in color on the LyX canvas.
So that's not working properly. But don't fix; let's get rid of it ;).
