Herbert et al, Just checked the patch. For endfloat to work, it needs the following
os << "\n\\end{" << tmptype << "}\n"; rather than os << "\\end{" << tmptype << "}%\n"; which was the original line. i.e. end{float}\n, rather than end{float}% No other change appear necessary. I also check using a figure with an ERT comment after it, in a float, at that went through fine. Following the discussion on lyx-devel, I don't know what chance this has of being included. Just as a final comment, I would say that in the exported tex file, I find it easier to follow if the floats start and end on new lines.
