so what's a few more prereleases? Every step is a step closer and
hopefully should get some more testing as existing users start testing
them.

Given the general public perception that 1.2.0 will be a big thing
(based on the old linux kernel numbering notion we've been trying to
re-educate people about) we are in effect being forced to take this
release very seriously.

At least Jürgen is sending his patches to the list for testing and
comment. Obviously in the hope that someone else will have time to
check them for those potential extra bugs.

This particular bug and the other recent inset cursor movement bug are
a pain and getting them fixed is a nice thing. I'm sure Jürgen
wouldn't mind if you said "Leave it for 1.2.1" but nobody has.

Personally, while I have advocated getting 1.2.0 out ASAP I (and
Jürgen) and also advocated getting the annoying bugs fixed before
1.2.0.

So I, as a user, am extremely grateful for Jürgens efforts -- he is
after all probably the best equiped to track down and solve this
stuff. So it's up to us to support him while he has the time to work
on this stuff. That said, I won't have time until the weekend when I
also hope to finish that bloody bitmap font patch that has been in
limbo for nearly two months -- once it's done it's done even if it
doesn't get included until 1.2.1.

Still a few weeks away... plenty of time.

Allan. (ARRae) Who has actually made some progress on his thesis!
