Hi,

For Grace and GIF files (those are the ones I've tested) I encounter an
unusual behaviour, with respect to the given path of the graphics file.

If the file-path is relative (not starting with a "/"), the View->DVI and
View->Postscript end with an error. The LaTeX logfile says

----------------------------------------------------
[..]
! LaTeX Error: File `/tmp/lyx_tmpdir72145KSFP8O/lyx_tmpbuf0/cid_cia' not found.

See the LaTeX manual or LaTeX Companion for explanation.
Type H <return> for immediate help.
 ...

l.18 ...lyx_tmpdir72145KSFP8O/lyx_tmpbuf0/cid_cia}

I could not locate the file with any of these extensions:
.eps,.ps,.eps.gz,.ps.gz,.eps.Z
[...]
----------------------------------------------------

Notice that the extension of the graphics file somehow has been lost;
it only mentions "cid_cia", not something like "cid_cia.eps"!

The lyx_tmpdir72145KSFP8O/lyx_tmpbuf0 directory has only newfile1.tex
and newfile1.log. No other files at all! Insidethe tex file there are
the following line:
  [...]
  \includegraphics{/tmp/lyx_tmpdir72329ebosPB/lyx_tmpbuf1/cid_cia}
  [...]

I can solve the problem in LyX in two ways:

1) Make the file-path of the graphics file from root ("/...").
2) I use the corresponding eps file instead.

Apparently something fishy is going on here.
Any ideas what?

Regards,
Rob.
