just a short report of successful installating lyx-1.2.0pre1 on Linux
(Debian 3.0, gcc 2.95.4) : ./configure ; make ; make install works
fine.
As previously noted, the bind/*.bind files are not exactly
compatible, and I got some complains about some functions not
existing anymore. Fix : see what the new .bind files use and adapt
the old ones.
My thesis did not compile (gave seventy something errors). If I get
it correctly (from compiling the exported .tex), macros were causing
some problems, so I created a new file in which to test macros.
I did not understand why there are two boxes in macros. From lack of
docs and of serious trying, I didn't manage to use math macros.

let me know if there are specific tests which you would like me to do.
