... but where did the empty \layout on line 290 of the test file come from? Is this legal? ... but even if not legal, it should be intercepted and handled (by assigning the default layout to it?) Martin PS does this argue for Lars also committing his textclass-as-string *now*? It would fix the meta-bug of making it easier for bugs to hide out ;-)
