That's a problem of missing education, but not bad per se. Maybe the people who are did the preferences stuff would come up with a dialog to set keybindings some day, but hand-editing some plain text configuration file is certainly no black magic. Actually, I hate it if configuration can _not_ be done this way, since grep-ing dialogs is not possible for obvious reasons... Andre' PS: I do not really like the current state of .lyx/preferences.
