Dear Mr. Lasgouttes,
thank you for bringing my thoughts about patches back into the right order ;-)
I already thought that the patch problems would not cause real ones because the
files not patchable were in the CVS tree. Anyway. As you thought, I used a
fix1-patched 1.6.0 to apply the fix2. Thanks for the clarification.

However, I am still not entirely satisfied with the possibility to declare an
global change to the fonts. I do not think that the suggested way is intuitive.
Would it be really so complicated to allow the user a decision about the fonts
to be used and apply that to i. e. $HOME/.lyx/templates/defaults.lyx? I know
that defining another textclass would be a solution for the problem, but this
would require a lot of knowledge from the user. Is this argumentation so far
from common sense? Do all of you guys live satisfied with roman fonts? I am
sure you don't.

But maybe you can make me understand what concept can be found behind. Thanks

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
