I checked and noticed that the Ubuntu package texlive-lang-european provides babel-finnish. And unfortunately texlive-lang-european was not installed. For some reason, also e.g. texlive-lang-english wasn't installed. So I installed package texlive-lang-european and generated the PDF from my document, and to my surprise, the figure caption headers are now correct <3 Thanx! May I assume that my lyx document is not needed any more?
