What is ZWJ?

ZERO WIDTH JOINER (0x200D). It is used to control ligatures especially
in Arabic and Indic scripts.

We have it commented out in unicodesymbols. I am not sure how one would
support it properly (LaTeX usually does it the other way round: do
ligatures _unless_ you advise it not to).

Note, however, that it should work when using XeTeX/LuaTeX ("use non-
TeX fonts") and a font that covers the glyph.

What bad things could happen if we just enabled it?

PS: amusingly, this can also be used with emojis: change gender or skin color of an emoji by joining corresponding elements.
