How about to introduce color themes? That would be something that we could ask 
our users to submit and then ship with a dozen (round number) of those themes 
and still allow users to copy those theme to create custom ones. That is 
similar to what other applications do.

Would this make sense to you and how difficult it will be to implement?

Lately I have even been using metropolis (beamer theme) dark mode. So you can 
think that this is my mood at the moment. :-)
