I am opposed to this because this would change strings. I mean the user can simply add \usepackage{paratype} to the preamble to use it for all fonts. I can also create a Wiki page for more details.
Of course LyX should support it directly in future but for LyX 2.3.0 I want to release the beast as soon as possible. I spent so much time the last weeks to get everything in shape and there is more work to do. Therefore I would focus on LyX 2.3.0 without adding new functionality.
