I (wholeheartedly) agree with Pavel in this point. It is more important this 
managerial trait than the technical aspect. We are in the developers mailing 
list and the mean field technical knowledge is here. :-)

Honestly I would like to suggest that if no one is stepping until say Tuesday 
the job is yours. :-)

The purpose of this is just to establish an explicit deadline and it is not to 
exclude anyone from the release manager role.

So if anyone has something to say about this speak now or forever hold your 
peace. ;-)
