Great. IMO, this is should also go to stable.

Then it would make sense to add a remark that not only Unicode fonts, but
also the font-encoding L7X solves the problem with drag-and-drop of accented
characters from the PDF.

In LyX, you can set the font encoding under
     Document>Settings>Fonts>LaTeX font encoding
L7X is supported by LatinModern and the standard Postscript fonts as well as
TeXGyre.
