It works for me on Ubuntu, with master and 2.2.1. I'm not sure what's
wrong. In the temporary directory you might be able to see the compile
log of the preview.
Strange. Now it works with the attached file for me too. But my original
document still doesn't preview the x's and any newly entered formulas
that have not been previewed before. And again if I remove everything
except for those x's and save the file to a new place no previews are
generated at all. I have attached the content of the temp directory for
the file. Unfortunately, I don't know what to look for.
(It is not a big deal for me. I was just wondering what went wrong and
whether this is a bug or so.)
