No, I do not see any change in behavior. I do not think this is a big
regression (unless you do), so if you prefer to wait for 2.2.x or 2.3

I fixed the wrong bug. The one I fixed is that when one clicks to the
right of the newline character (after inserting it), the cursor is
placed to the right of the newline, instead of before the newline, as
2.1 would do. I think this is worth fixing anyway.

My offer to try to bisect still holds if that would help.
Yes, if it is not too burdensome. It appears that the bug only occurs if
the paragraph is in an itemize sequence but is not the first one. This
does not look like any code I touched.
