Not necessary but helpfull. It would make the documents more "robust":
- a user could try out compilation with Xe/LuaTeX and non-TeX fonts without
tripping over the "missing character error" and the need to search for a
suitable font.

This is the main purpose of the userGuide.
In addition, all documents shipped with LyX are also starting points for
exploration and samples in the export tests.
Setting alternative system fonts in the source docs will help the "secondary
use" without affectiong the "primary use".
