The linked discussion on the luatex list had a Hebrew example with "Free
Sans" for serif, sans and mono. As my trials with several serif fonts all
triggered the spurious error described in #8035 but Scott reported a
successfull compilation of our test, I assume that this is due to the
same font settings (hidden to the non-initiated).

Thanks to the recent addition of the test-samples directory, non-hackish
testing of Hebrew with system fonts can now be done with a dedicated
sample document requiring only sans serif fonts (and mentioning this
current limitation).
