Yes, this is obviously a good idea. Please file an enchancement bug request on Trac: http://www.lyx.org/trac/ > P.S. I also invite you to look at: > > https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49356314/lyx/hi.html > > for many other rather older suggestions that I have for > improving LyX. Considering the first, for example: > Sometimes we work on a document in which we repeatedly nd that we > have to add certain phrases written in one text style (font, colour, > size), etc. and other phrases written in another text style. This basically means using character styles and then assigning them to shortcuts. True, that is a global setting, not a per-document one, which this might be, but I suspect it is workable. For the second: > I have not upgraded yet beyond version 2.01 becase sometimes when one > upgrades to a new > version of LYX, some nice features which were available in a previous > version become unavailable. This has always been possible. Exactly how you might manage it depends upon your OS. I have several versions of LyX running on my machine, for development purposes. You might try posting the other suggesions (a few at a time!) to this list, or just filing enhancement requests. Many of them seem reasonable to me. Richard
