change. I don't use change tracking much (only once, many years ago).

tracking is on. Also, do you see the pilcrow sign at the end if you
input several paragraphs with CT on?
The scissors display. Instead of the pilcrow I get a thick vertical
line (like a sans serif I in bold). See the attached image.

I've attached a second image of symbols that do display in the outliner
on windows. These come from Insert > Special Character > Symbols with
their grid numbers 0x2702 etc. The pilcrow, plain or fancy, is available.
