However, I think we should wait with the release I I must change the
installer. The problem is a nasty bug in l3kernel:

I don't understand why but many packages use the, still experimental,
LaTeX 3 kernel. When installing LyX 2.1.4 the installer normally asks
the user to update the LaTeX packages. This is a valuable feature but I
did this today and got the broken l3kernel files. Not LyX is quite
unusable for e.g. my real-life documents at work. So I would either wait
with the release of the Windows installer until the next l3kernel
release in a few day or I would have to change the installer and disable
the LaTeX package update for this LyX release.
What do you prefer?
