Stefano, I am familiar with LaTeX, been using it for submitting Reports and for making Resume.
LyX is now installed- will go through the documentation to get further hold of the things in there. You summed up things in a easy manner. Thanks would try to reach till bug fix soon enough and get back if I encounter any doubts on the path.
