This probably also depends on the exact size of your screen, on the size that is available to LyX, on how you've ordered the toolbars, etc. As said before, I hunted this before, but couldn't find the problem. And it's probably not possible to explain to someone how it can be reproduced. Maybe if you find out the exact size of the painting area of the document, someone else might be able to tweak to the same size, but I doubt. Vincent
