Installing Gnumeric did fix one of the tests for me on Ubuntu 13.04.
However, after Kornel's report of failure, I tested also on a
different machine with Ubuntu 12.04 and with Gnumeric installed and it
failed (that is, both test-insets.tex tests fail).
