Well, that was the idea behind howto contribute FAQ on web. I felt that many people appear and disappear because we are not way too resposnive to their questions where to start and what to do. I started that page and collected repeating questions and responded them; positive result is that rate of those repeated questions dropped in the list, the worse part is that rate of contribution remain at the same level. As harsh as it sounds long time observation around here led me to the conclusion that if someone asks *what* to do it's already lost case. Maybe the codebase is too dark to start with, maybe it's indeed just that we don't have enough man power to give helping hand, but that won't change. What on contrary seems to work, is the situation when some missing lyx feature or bug sucks so much that you have no other way than to fix it. The appearance of such new contributor on list has usually completely different flavor from seeking easyfix bugs, so I remain sceptic ;) Pavel
