Afterwards you should be able to reduce the bow width to 100 col%. regards Uwe Oops, my bad, I meant the other way around of course, the box spans two columns (I'm not sure if it can actually span two columns, but its size should be 207 %col) and the figure is embedded inside it. Making the figure span two columns in the teaser makes it disappear. There's another solution: Make the box 100 %col, and just use large graphics that spans two columns in the float (without specifying span columns), and add inside the box a -4.1cm horizontal space to make the box start at the beginning of the two columns, instead of being in the center of them both. This agrees with lyx.
