It sounds like we have people from both sides of cmake and automake on
board and willing to get these two build systems to act in as similar a
fashion as possible. However, no one else has commented. Let's give
these guys some direction.

We could create a "build system specification" which is implemented by cmake 
and autotools. This file then lists all

   - options
   - pathes
   - ???

It sounded like a good idea to have it as a wiki, until it converges to something everyone agrees with. Then we could port the file into svn.
