To resume in the start page we want:

+ A list of recently opened documents
+ A list of template documents with a quick graphical preview (as a clickable
image or maybe a tooltip?)
+ A list of examples
+ Links to documentation (from Help menu)
x No RSS
? Notification of new version available (Win & Mac)
? Tip of the day: we have a LOT of "hidden" feature, a uninvasive tip-of-the-day
would be a good way to spread the knowledge of adavanced LyX features

Other ideas?

Jurgen: do you think you can make the categorization of layouts in a reasonable
time or should we start using things as they're right now?
