Could we make this easily available on the net and add the URL to the error message like If this file is from a newer LyX version, try to download the conversion script www.lyx.org/downloads/newest-stable/lyx2lyx.py and place it in LYXDIR/scripts/. ? Also, documenting how to upgrade lyx2lyx on wiki.lyx.org is an option. Günter
