I do not have the Libertine font installed, but when I switch to Liberation Serif, I get the expected output here (i.e., including the whitespace). > Is this LyX or XeTeX at fault? I'm using TeXLive 2009 on Xubuntu 10.04 > 64-bit. This is TeXLive 2010 here, everything frshly updated. Jürgen
