Dear LyX developers
Thanks for this really nice software, which changed radically the way i
write scientific documents. I am currently using it on a daily basis,
much more than i used to do with plain latex.
I have recently tried to convince some collegues to switch from Latex To
LyX for writing articles in common, as I find it provides a cleaner
workflow, and the version tracking features are quite useful for this
kind of job.
One caveat is that LyX refuses to open the generated PDF file when there
are Latex errors, although the PDF output could still be usable.
Although I personnally hunts any compilation errors in a file, some
trade-ofs are often required when interacting with other people, for
example when they do not send you all the figure files or some obscure
macro fails or you want somebody to just contribute in a part of the
document without sending the whole package with the heavy figures.
I would like to disable this error check as to be able to compile and
visualize the output, even if there are some remaining errors. This is
possible to export to Latex, then compile by hand, but doing that would
really impede the writing workflow compared to the integrated experience
Lyx provides, and that I try to advocate to new users.
Doing a search for "ignore error Lyx" and related keywords didn't bring
anything relevant.
Did I miss the option for doing that ? If not, is it possible to
integrate such a feature in LyX ?
(For example, adding an optional "Force display" button in the error
window would seem to me intuitive enough).
Thanks again for providing such a useful tool
