We try to limit this menu to a reasonable size. We try to do this by providing

Sorry, I'd missed what "menu=export" means, thinking it meant: DON'T put
it on the export menu but only in the dialog.
Good work here. This turned out to be a very clean solution to a
long-standing issue.
