I was talking only about the tabular-specific items: the menu present in beta1, from Multicolumn to Settings, is just fine. Trying to organise it using submenus would render it less useful.
We could get rid of the too long and cluttered 2 column version of the menu by putting the 'standard' items on top into a submenu. Liviu
