I just stumbled over sec. 5.1 of the customization manual which describes how to install
LaTeX-package manually.
This section seems quite outdated:
- it contains a lot of special commands and settings that are most probably not
needed
- the important point how to unpack a LaTeX-package was missing
I therefore rewrote this section giving the simplest possible method to install
a package.
As I'm only on Windows, I need the help of someone on Linux if the paths are correct and that I
don't miss any Linux-specific issue. (I have included the older version of the method as yellow note.)
