Yes, the problem might be that you keep the fonts to "default". Try
specifying a particular font (LM, or Palatino), and see what this
gives.
Unfortunately, this does not seem to solve the problem : the pdf file
does not display either with Acrobat Reader.
I noticed the pdf output for "Roman=Palatino" contains
/FontName/YCPBSS+URWPalladioL-Roma/
while the first one (with Roman=Implicit) contains
/FontName/KATICF+SFRM1000/
I wonder if the problem could come from the fact that Acrobat Reader
knows only about the Adobe fonts and not about the Public domain files
included in Ghostscript, while the other pdf viewers know about both the
original Adobe default fonts _and_ the PD Gs files ?
If yes, this would mean that, to be viewed by Acroread, the pdf output
of LyX ought either to use Adobe fonts instead of PD Gs fonts ? Or
include the PD Gs files in the pdf output (as this does not seem to be
the case?)
