I have been using lyx for a while to produce math documents. I really
like the way it works and am quite happy with it.

Recently I started a blog (http://mth49601spring2010.wordpress.com/)
to post lecture notes for a course I am giving. I chose wordpress
because they have some latex support, but their online editor is not
so nice. I discovered a python script
(http://lucatrevisan.wordpress.com/latex-to-wordpress/) that converts
latex to html with wordpress latex markup. So my current workflow is
lyx ->  latex ->  wordpress.

I imagine that it would be easy to implement the script within lyx to
avoid the middle step. This would be quite useful for math bloggers
(although I guess many others just use latex and aren't as allergic to
the command line as I am).

LyX can do the LaTeX --> WordPress conversion for you. All you need to do is go to Tools>Preferences>File Handling and then: (a) Define a WordPress format under File Formats. (b) Define a LaTeX --> WordPress converter under Conveters by choosing LaTeX as "From format" and WordPress as "To format" and entering the python command line in "Converter", then hit "Add". See chapter 3 of the Customization manual for the details or look at some of the other converter commands to see how they work. Once that is done, you will see the WordPress option under File>Export. If you have problems, ask.
