no such plans. people do use it also for keeping the same layout on different
OS archs.

yep, it would be my first next question whats the last lyx -dbg files,info
message, with special attention on autosave messages... does it make
difference when you setup autosaves/backup directories into some
non-NFS dir?
there have been some autosave quirks under mac lately, can't remember
any connection with keyboard though, cf http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/6168 .
its bit weird that file-related business affects keyboard behaviour.
