Within my lyx.app on Mac, when looking into it (rightclicking on the
lyx.app and choosing »Show content of package«) I can find the two LyX
.layout files in the subsub…directory
/Applications/LyX.app/Contents/Resources/layouts/), but I don't know how
the LyX.app is organized on Linux.
Anyway, I can't immagine, that they are not within the newest LyX.app
1.6.5 (from dec. 5th) for Linux … perhaps you need to download it from the
LyX website.
