This might be already one step too much for a new user. Remember that we do have 2 font settings in LyX: screen font and LaTeX font. Finding the right one (in a non-standard place) and understanding the restricted choice of fonts that are LaTeX fonts && installed && supported by the LyX GUI instead of the expected list of system fonts is non trivial. In this case many new users might rather abort testing LyX at an early stage. Günter
