Sorry, I don't feel that this should be an InsetExternal as it influences the whole document. I also don't get why Date is an InsetExternal. If I want to insert the Date of today, I woulnd not imagine to go to Insert->File->External, as 1. this doesn't involve a file at all, 2. I'd expect it to be close to Insert->Date. InsetExternals are perfect to insert a chess-game of course, or some other External file that needs special processing. >Jürgen Vincent
