The file format will always be current. LyX will read the LaTeX file,
fill in a Buffer structure and then save the Buffer into a lyx file.

That's probably because I don't understand the original problem :-)
But I was merely answering to Uwe's assertion somewhere in the thread
that upgrading tex2lyx for each file format was the only solution to
tex2lyx maintenance.
