i was not talking about updating actions. if my brain by accident remembers to use update mechanism, then it rememebers ctrl+shift+t as well ;) > (I understand that change is always annoying unless you get used to it.) the fact that i was already thinking whether is cheaper to patch my install scripts to add pdf&ps to menu or put it in my ~/.lyx ui files simply shows that the new interface sucks more than enough for my usecases. i considered this as my own problem until Richard raised the voice - maybe it is problem of wider audience of users. >You use acroread to view PDF files? Then you don't have my sympathy ;-) btw what readers under linux are to be recommended ? long time ago i tried available free viewers like xpdf for a while and then i respectfully returned back to acroread. i regularly use and need things like fullcreen mode, color exchange for text and background, continuous mode, reasonable caching of pages around so jumping around is fast and very good rendering engine - normal antialias is bad on my lcd screen and adobe soft somehow managed that even small fonts are readable here. only from version 8 the lauch time rapidly increased, so i peek what happened menawhile in foss... pavel
