But isn't this the same? After Qt 4.4.0 was released, Ubuntu used it for its new release 2 weeks or so later (when I remember correctly). Ubuntu will release in April, so when they will ship Qt 4.5, Ubuntu have LyX 1.6.2 using the Qt 4.5 libraries - the same that Windows users would have, right? So I don't understand why I shouldn't use Qt 4.5 when Linux users will have to use it as well? When Linux users have Qt 4.5 and Windows users have Qt 4.4.2, LyX 1.6.2 would not be the same LyX 1.6.2 on all platforms as some user will have bugs others don't have.

(Besides this, I can revert to Qt 4.4.2 if you want me to, but you also have to convince Joost, who I couldn't convince when Qt 4.4 came out.)

I would happy when anybody could point me to regressions. We only use the Gui and the Core of Qt, and as far as I can see are the major changes in other components like designer/creator, phonon, Webkit, etc. Currently Qt 4.5.0 fixes for me on Windows 2 bugs, one is a crash, and I didn't encounter yet a regression while using it intensively this week for writing my thesis.

Nevertheless, André what do you recommend me to do, compile LyX 1.6.2 against
Qt 4.4.2 or 4.5?

thanks and regards
Uwe
