i was wrong here. colors are not inverse, just the background of preview gets black according to the color settings of guiview background, so the black lineart is not seen. would it be acceptible to have one more tag in external_templates for _not_ doing any colors replacemene for instant preview of graphics stuff? one more question for Juergen - i'm not sure how is it with our policy with file format, when speaking about external .dia support. it is not file format change per se, and file editation and exchange will work correctly, but 1.6.1 wouldn't be able to produce tex output from 1.6.2 (if 1.6.2 include this support). is this stopper for 1.6 inclusion? pavel
