my proposition would be to use and debug this stuff only for latex runs and let other things for the time being. i promised some help with debuging on linux, but i have waited for quotation-marks fix we saw in berlin before farewell. unfortunately the introduced find-space 'fixes' are just workaround without fixing the cause and the most latest commits imho directly hurt other parts of unrelated code eg rcs - error catching there was a bit tricky bussiness and i dont feel to rewrite rcs now :) pavel
