To put things differently: we already have too much code adding fancy
side-effects that somebody found clever at the time (I did that myself).
I think that most of them are wrong because they rely of the use pattern
of _one_ guy.
Can I suggest again the option of putting this in the layout file? It
seems there are clear cases, such as section, where the sensible
behavior is to unnest, even if that is not what one would always want to
do. And if it's in the layout file, then of course it is configurable.
