Hi Abdel,

I don't exactly understand what you're saying, but as an outline user for 40 
years, a computer outline user for 25, and the originator of VimOutliner I 
have some strong views on outliners.

I think a book should START with an outline. That might agree with your idea 
to be able to open an outline without opening a document, AS LONG AS the 
outline can be subsequently saved, and as long as when the time is right, the 
outline can be converted to a LyX doc.

Anything that makes it easier for authors do outline before writing is a 
wonderful thing.

For VimOutliner users, there's a need for a VimOutliner to LyX converter. I've 
got that running for 1.4.x and I think it works under 1.5.x, but I need to 
test/modify it under 1.6.x, and I need to start preparing the VimOutliner to 
LyX/XML. I'll write more on that in a separate email.
